TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A fight outside of a Tucson bar late Tuesday night sent one man to the hospital and multiple others injured. The five men believed to be behind the brawl are corrections officers at the Pima County Adult Detention Center.Tucson News Now has learned that 7 other officers have been suspended. Tucson Police responded to the Buffet Bar on East 9th Street around 2 a.m.According to detectives, the attack began when a male victim was punched in the head from behind as he tried to unlock his bicycle. The attack, which included five people, was unprovoked. The victim went back into the bar to have someone help him get the bike. The five suspects then confronted the two men when they went back outside. Police say both victims were brutally beaten to the group. Employees from the bar tried to stop the attack and a nearby resident and his 17-year-old son tried to stop the fight. One of the suspects proceeded to assault the neighbor and his son. All five of the suspects eventually fled the scene before police could arrive. Detectives were later able to identify the suspects and discovered they are employed by the Pima County Sheriff's Department as Corrections Officers.





The following people have been arrested:John Hyatt, 30Matthew Garcia, 24Anthony Bonfiglio, 25Angel Castaneda, 23Steven Haglund, 26 They are all facing charges of aggravated assault. The Pima County Sheriff's Department said that Castaneda and Haglund have been terminated, the remaining three were suspended. Also, the department says 7 others have been suspended but have not be arrested or charged as of Thursday afternoon.
