DOG SHOOTS OWNER: COPS NOT LOOKING FOR LEADS

To contact us Click HERE
THIS dog is literally a pain in the ass for his barking mad owner.
Cops said they weren't looking for any leads in this case because his paws were all over the scene of the crime after he somehow shot the duck hunter in the buttocks.
The Utah duck hunter was sprayed when the murderous mutt stepped on his shotgun and blasted him.
The two were in his canoe like boat when the man got out to either set up or collect decoys.
Box Elder County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Kevin Potter told KSL that the man had laid his 12 gauge shotgun across the bow of the boat.
He said: "The dog did something to make the gun discharge. I don't know if the safety device was on. It's not impossible the dog could have taken it off safety."
Potter did not have information on the type of dog that stepped on the shotgun.
The men called 911 and walked to the main road to wait for emergency crews.
Potter added that, the fact the man was wearing waders likely helped prevent a more serious injury. His canine companion could be in the running for hunting dog of the year.

"She walked out there and we think she might have had a car out there."
The newlyweds added that they hope the woman gets the help she needs.

LEDE
A TWISTED killer snapped pictures of his young victims before running errands with the female corpse in the trunk of his car.
Craig Lede allegedly beat Dana Nelson, 28, and John Ketsemidis, 29, over a drug debt of just $40.
It's thought all three were hooked on prescription drugs, which were linked to a pill clinic which has recently closed.
Lede told cops he killed the couple because he was tired of being "screwed about" over a small debt, so he'd killed the pair.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis told Bay News 9 that Ketsemidis and Nelson had gone to Lede’s home to talk about their debt when he attacked them with a bat.
According to the arrest warrant: "Once the victims were down and helpless, the defendant struck them in the head and upper body several times causing eventual death."
After taking the sick pictures, he stuffed Nelson's body into the trunk of her boyfriend's car and went to Ketsemidis' parents home where he demanded $40.
They refused to hand over the cash and called cops, when they saw he was driving his son's car.
After finding the bodies, police said that Lede confessed to the double murder.Sheriff Nienhuis added: "Although we cannot link this heinous and senseless crime directly to the abuse of prescription drugs, there is little doubt that it significantly contributed to the deaths of these two young people.
"This is a perfect example that prescription drug abuse is not a victimless or a non-violent crime."

THEY say the first cut is the deepest but for Virginia Valdez' husband it was also the most painful - as she tried to cut off his penis with a pair of scissors.
It's unclear how successful the 69-year-old was with her eye-watering attack, but it's believed that she didn't do a Bobbit and completely sever her husbands member.
Her spouse 62, who's name has not been released called cops late Saturday and told them of the attack and when officers arrived they found him bleeding profusely and the bloody weapon nearby.
“They were more heavy duty than the standard office scissors,”  Palm Springs Police Sgt. Kyle Stjerne told the Herald Sun, adding that they resembled poultry shears.
He added that the couple had been married for 32 years and the cause of Saturday’s fight remains under investigation.
He explained: “It was just a long-standing marital dispute, and we are not sure what caused her to do it."
Valdez was arrested on suspicion of mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and spousal abuse.
Online jail records say she was released Sunday and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
Police say the man was treated at a hospital for injuries in the penis area and released.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The mystery surrounding the man behind the crudely produced anti-Islamic video that sparked violence in the Middle East deepened when he appeared in court and identified himself by yet another name. Arrested on Thursday after authorities said he violated his probation from a 2010 check fraud conviction, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula told a judge his real name was Mark Basseley Youseff. He said he'd been using that name since 2002, even though he went by Nakoula in his fraud case. The full story about Nakoula and the video "Innocence of Muslims" still isn't known more than two weeks after violence erupted in Egypt and Libya, where Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others were killed in Benghazi. Violence related to the film has since spread, killing dozens more.Citing a lengthy pattern of deception and the potential to flee, U.S. Central District Chief Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal ordered Nakoula to remain in prison without bond until another judge can hold a hearing to determine if he broke the terms of his probation."The court has a lack of trust in this defendant at this time," Segal said.Prosecutors noted Nakoula had eight probation violations, including lying to his probation officers and using aliases. He could face new charges that carry a maximum two-year prison term.

At less than six inches and just under 10 ounces, the Ruger .380 is considered by gun owners to be a great little pocket pistol.
So small, in fact, that you can sometimes get one onto an airplane.
D'oh!Yep, the New York Daily News reports that a woman flew 938 miles from Orlando, Fla., to Newark, N.J., on Thursday with a loaded .380 in her purse. United flight 15 was airborne before she realized what she'd doneand airport screeners had missed. How the Daily News said it unfolded:
She didn't tell anyone on the plane about the weapon during the flight, which left Florida at 8:19 a.m.But when she landed at Newark Airport at 10:24, she immediately told a Port Authority police officer.
The newspaper identified the woman as a 37-year-old Orlando firefighter. New Jersey officials called Florida authorities, but the Daily News says the Essex County prosecutor declined to prosecute the woman because she self-reported the incident."She was visibly upset. She said she had a license to carry it and just forgot it," said Al Della Fave, Port Authority police spokesman. "The [Port Authority] officer took possession of the handgun and made it safe."The Transportation Security Administration, meanwhile, had no immediate answers."TSA is aware of this situation and is reviewing the circumstances," said Lisa Farbstein, a spokeswoman for the agency told the Daily News.

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) — A Border Patrol agent fatally shot a woman Friday in suburban San Diego as he rode on the hood of her car after she ran into him, authorities said.

The agent fired after being driven a couple hundred yards on the hood, Chula Vista police Capt. Gary Wedge told The Associated Press.

The shooting occurred about five miles north of the Mexican border as plainclothes agents were looking to serve a felony warrant in the area to someone other than the woman, Border Patrol Deputy Chief Rodney Scott told U-T San Diego.

Scott said the agent was stuck atop the car as the woman drove.
"Fearing for his life, he discharged his weapon to get the vehicle to stop," Scott said. No other agents fired.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, and the agent was taken to a hospital. His injuries were not clear.
Hector Salazar, a neighbor who witnessed the incident, said he saw a man in civilian clothes on the hood of a black car aiming a gun at the windshield.
Salazar told U-T San Diego the man started pulling the trigger, and he heard about five shots. Moments later, other plainclothes agents approached the car, he said.
The person named in the warrant the agents were serving was not apprehended, Scott said.
The FBI and Chula Vista police are investigating.

Her family couldn't sympathize and Alayna's grandmother, Denise Jones, told WXZY it was cowardly for Hinojosa to "disregard these children like a bag of garbage."

Along with monstrous tuna, fisherman sees giant payday slip away

By: Pete Thomas, GrindTV.com

Imagine Ivan Regular's surprise when he hauled in his herring net and discovered that it contained a monstrous bluefin tuna that might have been worth a small fortune on the Japanese market ... only to learn that he had to throw the whopper back.

The remarkable haul was made in the North Atlantic off the Newfoundland coast and here's the catch: Regular, from the island town of Baie Verte, did not possess a license to fish for tuna, and it was caught out of season.

Because of this he was ordered by Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans to leave the tuna in the ocean, even though the fish was already dead, and where this smarts most is in the wallet.

Atlantic bluefin, which are endangered, can be fished for only seasonally under strict guidelines. Bluefin caught out of season, even incidentally, must be thrown back. This rule is designed to keep the number of incidental catches to a minimum.

These fish, because of their fatty flesh, are extremely valuable in Japanese sushi restaurants.

Last January a 593-pound bluefin sold in a Japanese fish market for a record-setting price of $736,000.

Regular didn't get a weight on his behemoth but said that based on what other bluefin have sold for, he believes his might have been worth as much as $500,000. He claimed even to have had a prospective buyer lined up, but was told by the DFO that any sale would be illegal.

"That would have been a wonderful fall for us," the herring fisherman told CBC News.

But, he added, there was no point in dwelling on what might have been.

"I think fishermen got the best sense of humor of anybody that's in the working force," he said. "That's all you can have in this racket, the fishery. You got to have a good sense of humor."

Translation: There's no point in crying over what might have been.

You are also a morbidly obese, jobless waste of space. At some point, how many more kids should one bring into the world? All of which begs the question ...

Is This Why Russell Armstrong Killed Himself?

To contact us Click HERE

The autopsy results are in and the coroner has made it official: Russell Armstrong died by "hanging and the final manner of death is suicide."

But why? Why did the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong take his own life? It's a question that will never have an answer, but two theories have emerged:

The Armstrongs

1. Money problems. Russell was facing a $1.5 million lawsuit, had no assets to his name and told People weeks before his death: "It got really overwhelming. When you get a TV show involved and all the pressure, it just takes it to a whole new level."

2. A tell-all book was reportedly on the way, according to Radar Online, that would have exposed Russell as a bisexual.

"There were people on the record that were going to talk about the kind of sex he liked," a source said. "He was into S&M type stuff; choking, rough-housing and slapping."

We hate to gossip in such a manner about the dead, but at times like this, it's hard not to wonder. Bravo, meanwhile, might delay the premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as it considers all options in dealing with this tragedy.

David Letterman Targeted For Death By Jihadists

To contact us Click HERE

David Letterman was the target of a death threat in posts on an extremist networking site frequented by al-Qaeda, according to SITE Intelligence Group.

The private company, which trolls the web for possible terrorist activity, reported the call to "cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever."

This frightening threat is believed to have arisen after Letterman, who is not Jewish, cracked a joke on Late Show perceived as offensive to Islam.

Late Show's Host

"He showed his evil nature and deep hatred for Islam and Muslims, and said that Ilyas Kashmiri was killed and he joined bin Laden," Umar al-Basrawi, which is probably not this lowlife's real name, wrote online.

"We ask Allah to paralyze his tongue and grant the sincere monotheists his neck."

Analysts perceived the diatribe against Letterman as "a more explicit threat" than a similar one aimed at South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

A rep for Letterman's Worldwide Pants production company respectfully declined to comment, but SITE is advising the funnyman to be on his guard.

Michael Jackson Estate Seeks Insurance Payout

To contact us Click HERE

The Michael Jackson estate is believes Lloyd's of London owes it $17.5 million for an insurance policy on the singer's "This Is it" tour, and wants it ASAP.

Lloyd's issued the policy to cover potential losses for MJ's 2009 concerts, which were set to begin just weeks after the star passed away at age 50.

Earlier this year, the company asked an L.A. court to declare the policy null and void, claiming MJ lied about his medical history and drug addiction.

The estate? Not pleased by that move.

This Was It

Lloyd's insists the policy "was restricted to losses resulting from accident only" and points out that Michael's official cause of death was "homicide."

Dr. Conrad Murray faces involuntary manslaughter charges stemming from the star's untimely death, and will be tried beginning in September.

The estate counters in a cross-complaint that MJ obviously never intended to die, by homicide or not, so his death still qualifies as an accident.

Forget the $17.5 million, the estate is now seeking punitive damages for its trouble. Short story? Lloyd's had better have some good attorneys.

To find out more on that "why," the Northern California Innocence Project is hostingInnocence Matters Breakfast Briefings this Fall.Once again, Blogger and I are not getting along when it comes to page breaks, so please bear with me until I figure out how to fix this.Join NCIP for its September 12, 2012 Breakfast Briefing, Absolute Immunity vs. Qualified Immunity: Why the Bad Prosecutors Never Pay. Margaret Johns, UC Davis Law Senior Lecturer, will discuss the history of absolute immunity and explain why the lesser qualified immunity could be the better solution for addressing prosecutors who commit misconduct. Preventable Error:A Report on Prosecutorial Misconduct in California 1997–2009(The entire report is in .pdf form at the link.)(From the report)The problem of prosecutorial misconduct is even more critical today. Scores of academic articles and books, as well as the media, have documented the extent to which some prosecutors continue to use the very tactics the Supreme Court decried, as well as others, to obtain convictions. To more fully document the scope of the problem, the Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP) engaged in a comprehensive analysis of publicly available cases of prosecutorial misconduct in California, reviewing more than 4,000 state and federal appellate rulings, as well as scores of media reports and trial court decisions, covering the period 1997 through 2009. This study—the “Misconduct Study”—is the most in-depth statewide review of prosecutorial misconduct in the United States. NCIP’s examination revealed 707 cases in which courts explicitly found that prosecutors committed misconduct. In about 3,000 of the 4,000 cases, the courts rejected the prosecutorial misconduct allegations, and in another 282, the courts did not decide whether prosecutors’ actions were improper, finding that the trials were nonetheless fair. Identifying 707 cases in which prosecutorial misconduct was found—on average, about one case a week—undoubtedly understates the total number of such cases. These 707 are just the cases identified in review of appellate cases and a handful of others found through media searches and other means. About 97 percent of felony criminal cases are resolved without trial, almost all through guilty pleas. Moreover, findings of misconduct at the trial court level that are not reflected in appellate opinions cannot be systematically reviewed without searching every case file in every courthouse in the state. And of course, the number cannot capture cases of prosecutorial misconduct that were never discovered (for example, failure to disclose exculpatory evidence) or appealed (due, for example, to lack of resources or ineffective counsel). The Misconduct Study’s findings as to the results in these 707 cases were as follows:In the vast majority—548 of the 707 cases—courts found misconduct but nevertheless upheld the convictions, ruling that the misconduct was harmless--that the defendants received fair trials notwithstanding the prosecutor’s conduct. Only in 159 of the 707 cases—about 20 percent—did the courts find that the misconduct was harmful; in these cases they either set aside the conviction or sentence, declared a mistrial or barred evidence. The Misconduct Study shows that those empowered to address the problem—California state and federal courts, prosecutors and the California State Bar—repeatedly fail to take meaningful action. Courts fail to report prosecutorial misconduct (despite having a statutory obligation to do so), prosecutors deny that it occurred, and the California State Bar almost never disciplines it. Significantly, of the 4,741 public disciplinary actions reported in the California State Bar Journal from January 1997 to September 2009, only 10 involved prosecutors, and only six of these were for conduct in the handling of a criminal case. That means that the State Bar publicly disciplined only one percent of the prosecutors in the 600 cases in which the courts found prosecutorial misconduct and NCIP researchers identified the prosecutor.Further, some prosecutors have committed misconduct repeatedly. In the subset of the 707 cases in which NCIP was able to identify the prosecutor involved (600 cases), 67 prosecutors–11.2 percent—committed misconduct in more than one case. Three prosecutors committed misconduct in four cases, and two did so in five cases.

Conversations About Scott And Laci Peterson Today

Another discussion about the Peterson case is under way on the "InjusticeAnywhere.com" forum.---------------Blogger Page Breaks Still On The Blink-----------------ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo So, using the letter 'o' as a breaker-upper, let me suggest a great old website for those whose experience of the Peterson case is mainly through the various outlets of mainstream media. (A lot of folks.) This is one of my favorite Peterson sites. "Vance Holmes," "Poetic Justice." Lots and lots of photos and colored type: excellent and easy on the eyes._______________Murdoch says, citing as his source:First interview with Brocchini on the 24/25th"she was pretty fastidious about cleaning" and "yeh, she always had the vaccum and mop out"Scott asks nothing about finding Laci in the interview and when Laci's sister calls, he asks her nothing about whats been going on back at the house and their searching efforts. He finishes up enquiring about counsellers for Laci's family when she hasn't been missing 24 hours. He promises to take a polygraph. He declines Brent's request to go be with the family and instead goes home even though they want to see him.My note: I have been wondering and wondering and waiting for a videotape or the transcript of that interview to be made available. Maybe I've missed it somehow and it is up on Marlene's site, but the last I heard, Facebook's "Justice For Scott Peterson" page last year suggested that it would be posted, but then if it was posted, I never was able to find it, though I've followed that discussion pretty closely.____________________________Jane responds:By the time the interview was recorded, Scott had been with Brocchini for at least 2 hours at the house, at the warehouse and in between. Do you really think it would have been appropriate for Scott to have a long conversation with Amy while he was in the middle of a tape-recorded interview with a detective. Brocchini didn't drop him off at home until approx 2 am. Would that have been a good time to go to Sharon's house? We've already discussed why he didn't take the polygraph on the 25th. He did, however, submit to a 2-3 hour interview on that day with the DOJ polygraph examiner Doug Mansfield and lead detective Craig Grogan. There were dogs searching the park and the neighborhood on the night of the 24th-25th. Brocchini made arrangements to have cadaver dogs brought in on the 26th. How many civilians know the difference between trailing/tracking dogs and cadaver dogs? Nothing was found in the vacuum that was incriminating. There were lots of people tracking in and out of the house. Why would he ask the media for help? He believed that the police were there to help him.He was concerned about Sharon's emotional state. She was hysterical.-----------------At this point I might lurk, but I don't think I'll be joining the conversation. Here's an example of why.-----------------A poster named Cliff Wismayer is asking Jane what her source is for her assertion that Scott Peterson usually put his clothing in the washer when he came home after work (he worked as a fertilizer salesman...as we all know). -----------------Jane answers with an opportunity for a nuanced glance at testimony that explains:__________People's Exhibit 68Taped interview, Det. He lied by not revealing his connection to Amber Frey, and when he was on an open radio (cell phone) getting death threats daily, with media packs on him like flies on sugar, he did not disclose his true location several times. This was used against him at trial, as evidence that he was a liar. To understand why Peterson did certain things at certain times, one has to drop all the things the TV hammered into one's head about this case, because these things were wrong. They were lies. They were flat-out, bullshit lies. Don't believe it? That the TV would lie with impunity, and be protected legally for this, even? If you don't believe this---if your premises differ that dramatically than mine--then the discussion cannot be had. It can--but it will not be productive and there will be no communication.)________________This forum is (apparently) very important. (Influential.)________________________The people who have researched and believe in Scott Peterson's innocence are posting there, each with his or her own inimitable style. Voice of Sanity is clanging and banging like he does, and Marlene is patiently explaining (for the millionth time) the details of the case to folks who have not read her site, SII. ______________________________For those not familiar with the site, it is citizen journalism of the most painstaking nature. Complete transcripts are posted, an entire media reference library is posted, and individual testimonies are broken down and analyzed, for example, the testimony by Dr. Allison Galloway about the fetal development of Baby Conner. This was testimony that I myself had difficulty understanding, and I printed out Marlene's explanation and pondered over it for, literally, days.______________________________Meanwhile, you have folks who just want to chat like they're at the coffeehouse about the Peterson case, and they're not interested in reading the links or doing the homework, or don't have time. (Not interested enough.) _________________________________Considering Marlene has done SO MUCH of the homework, I'm amazed at her patience over there, but I'm also completely and totally uninterested in having those discussions anymore. Say whatever you want to say about Scott Peterson, but if we're going to talk about why this case is bad law, something that affects all of us in California, then understanding why it's bad law is going to require a complete re-framing of everything you know about the case. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________And that's going to take reading. (Damn this lack of page breaks.)_____________________________________I too would like a bigger forum for understanding of this case, but if it's a forum with people who get their information primarily from broadcast media, then it's a forum where a true discussion of the evidence is virtually impossible._____________For me---there's too much that's too important in the world, to spend time arguing over whether Mr. Peterson is a "pathological liar" or not._____________It's just a waste of time, which is rushing, so short._____________If one is curious, one can read the material. For example, the testimony._____________If one is not curious enough to read the work that took so many years by so many people to do----------a shouting match will ensue. _____________Especially if I participate._____________So I'll let VOS do the shouting, though I wish he'd save his voice. It's like Edward Humes said in the title of one book, "No Matter How Loud I Shout," .....it's a tree falling in the forest if no one hears. _____________You may as well be speaking in a foreign tongue. An anonymous poster with the handle "Laci's Voice" is accusing researcher Marlene Newell of doctoring the trial transcripts at SII.

(Thanks to Voice of Sanity for helping me with the page break mystery...and for being sane.) (Yeah, that's right, I think he's quite sane.) I'm not going to let this one go by. Here's what the poster said:

"Umm, that non credible blog is rife with errors, not CC's book. Plus, Marlene altered the transcripts, which are not whole.

What Jane claims and what is reality are two different things."

There is no link to anything specific.

There is no example or any way to check this.

This is a very important question.

The conversation goes on with a comment by administrator Bruce Fisher being answered by the poster I'll refer to as LV. Fisher's point:

The major problem that Peterson supporters have is the lack of experts that support their claims. If there were a couple of credible experts that were voicing their opinion about Peterson's innocence, their cause would get more traction. Why are the experts staying away from this case? Most likely its because they believe he is guilty.

LV:

"I agree, normal rational thinking people, experts are not know Scott did it. All these people do is go by some silly blog run by Marlene Newell and claim she has proven him innocent. In no way shape or form has she. She's earned her rep and it's not pretty.

Don't you find it odd that for 10 yrs these apologists have not approached any expert? They don't ever leave the computer and that's how they think they are going to get Scott off somehow. It's not normal rational thinking. So all this they claim is a total waste."

----------------Don't you think it's odd that a 47-story steel-framed skyscraper fell down in 6.5 seconds at 5:20 pm in New York City on 9/11/01...and for 10 years no television news has dealt with this beyond Fox's pokefuntainment shows? World Trade Center, Building 7, the Solomon Brothers Building.

Fell down. On 911. In 6.5 seconds. A steel-framed skyscraper.

Wasn't even hit by a plane.

Or...how about another one, one that's less controversial. The worst industrial accident in the Western Hemisphere for decades, happening right now in Japan, and not a peep from the media. Senator Ron Wyden travels to see the Fukushima plant for himself and comes back upset enough to fire off letters to US officials and Japanese officials, Officially seeking attention to this public health issue that threatens the lives and health of so many of us.

You see that there are many issues of importance in our world, and very little time to do justice to all of them..or even some.

You can also see that regardless of the attention of experts, these cases languish in the public mind for lack of access.

(Military Officers for 9/11 Truth, Veterans For 9/11 Truth, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth.....these are respectable and accomplished individuals speaking up, in their own names, posting their own thoughts online about this. But because some folks think that TV news tells the truth, and believe the TV newscasters who say "internet rumors" are nothing but rumors, those people will discount this important information and the risk taken by patriots who speak out and ask questions in the only forum available: the Net.)

I have been surrounded by news, mainstream and otherwise, since 1994. And I mean surrounded, on a daily basis, exposed to information, piles of it, heaps and mountains and storms of it. I have my own filter, and it has failed me before (I didn't question 9/11 until sometime after 2006). But I've only been alive for a certain number of decades and can only do the best I can, as an individual.

I trust my instincts when it comes to the written word. I have said before and I'll say again that I have watched very little television coverage of the Peterson case, except what I heard with the sound off while in the studio at the radio station when it was big news. I became interested in 2009 after reading the books. I found Marlene's site and dug into the transcripts. I have met and spoken to fascinating and engaged people who are interested. It has been an education, and continues to be. I do want to know the truth, whatever that is.

In short, I trust my filter until I get solid proof that it's failed me. It does, I'm human. But I am mightily impressed by Marlene Newell's site and the years of work and analysis that's gone into it.

What my filter tells me about these accusations is that they are baseless (and spiteful). I've seen them before. There is never, ever, ever a specific. These accusations have been posted online previously, and I have yet to see even one instance where this was demonstrated. Not even one.

But please, don't let this be the last word. If you support inquiry into this case, I don't think I could state more strongly how serious it is that these questions be put to bed once and for all. I say put 'em to bed, I'm ready; did it long ago. Because I see no proof and I believe Marlene and the supporters of Scott Peterson. They don't need to doctor transcripts.

It's bad law. It speaks for itself. So do the books, the media coverage, and all the rest of the documentation. Whether anyone cares is quite another question.

Open Letter To Senator Dianne Feinstein: The War On The 4th Amendment

To contact us Click HERE
Source: Constitution Campaign.orgLast month, Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) wrote a letter to James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, alleging that the federal government may be reviewing e-mails and phone calls of law-abiding Americans. In his response, Dir. Clapper explained his awareness of “at least one occasion” where the federal government violated the Fourth Amendment’s limitation on unreasonable searches and seizures in using its police power to wiretap and surveillance individuals without a warrant. In fact, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence confirmed that a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (“FISA”) Court found that “some collection carried out pursuant to the Section 702 minimization procedures used by the government were unreasonable under the Fourth Amendment.”In June, the National Security Agency refused to disclose how many citizens have been affected by law enforcement surveillance. As a result, Sen. Wyden has proposed several amendments to FISA, Lincluding an amendment prohibiting warrantless searches of domestic communication in the U.S., which was already rejected. He also proposes the Geolocation Privacy and Surveillance Act (“GPS”), which would require law enforcement officials to produce a warrant prior to obtaining location data from an individual’s smartphone, computer or other electronic device.See link for more information on Senator Wyden's initiatives. Here's an article from earlier this year (April) on the ACLU's release of cell phone tracking documents.I wrote recently to Senator Dianne Feinstein of my concerns over warrantless wiretaps. Here is her response. I follow below with one of my own.Dear Ms. Burkey: I received your letter and want to thank you for expressing your concerns about government surveillance authorities. I recognize that this is an important issue to you, and I welcome the opportunity to share my points of view. I believe that law enforcement and the intelligence community need the authorities in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to collect intelligence information necessary to prevent terrorist attacks and protect our nation. Under FISA, surveillance authorities are subject to judicial oversight from the FISA Court, require approvals from senior officials in the Executive Branch, and are subject to full oversight by the Department of Justice and the Congress. As Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I can assure you that oversight of the government's surveillance authorities is a major priority for these Committees. I supported the FISA Extensions Act of 2011 (Public Law 112-3), which Congress passed on May 26, 2011 to extend three provisions in FISA—known as "roving wiretaps," "lone wolf," and "business records" provisions—until June 1, 2015. I believe these are important counterterrorism tools, and that the expiration of these authorities would reduce our security. During the debate, I pledged, as Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, to hold hearings in that Committee on the uses of these three provisions and other FISA authorities, and those hearings have taken place. I intend to hold further hearings this year to continue considering FISA authorities and whether they should be extended. Be assured that I recognize your concerns about the transparency and oversight of the Government's surveillance authorities. Like you, I strongly believe in transparent government, and protecting Americans' personal privacy rights. Unfortunately, there is a limit to the amount of transparency possible when discussing classified intelligence programs, which is why I believe that congressional oversight of these matters is vital. Again, thank you for your letter. Hearing your perspectives is very helpful to me. Should you have any additional comments or questions, please contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841. Sincerely yours, Dianne Feinstein United States SenatorFurther information about my position on issues of concern to California and the nation are available at my website, Feinstein.senate.gov. You can also receive electronic e-mail updates by subscribing to my e-mail list. Click here to sign up. And please visit my YouTube, Facebook and Twitter for more ways to communicate with me.Dear Senator Feinstein,Thank you very much for the response to my concerns. I would like to suggest that these hearings be held so that they are accessible to the public, with chat functions and a way for the public to comment and/or have input. These are our communities under surveillance, and if the intelligence people can use the Net to spy, then we should be able to have equal access to oversee that spying. ;) This needs to be made possible; otherwise, it's just people far away in Washington, once again, talking about things affecting us, so far away, thousands of miles. People meeting in rooms after hopping planes will not go far enough to ensure community oversight, no matter how earnestly those people in those rooms talk or take notes or formulate policy plans. All of it is just talk, and without the right people listening, what it amounts to is a deepening void between law enforcement communities, Homeland Security, and the people these organizations are supposed to serve--the people who pay for them.I would also like to suggest a practical viewing of the film "The Lives Of Others," hailed by the Academy as the "Best Foreign Language Film" in 2007. It's a beautiful and powerful film that, if you haven't seen it, will help with a better understanding of what a surveillance state does to human relationships in real time and in real life.Thank you, Ms. Feinstein, for getting back to me. I hope this letter reaches you in good health.Sincerely,Cynthia Burkey5:37 "Really? That's nice."8:40 "You can keep a secret, can't you?"

Occam's Razor, Media Inacurracies Lies, And Paul Wellstone's Plane Crash

To contact us Click HERE
I found this interesting video here yesterday while cruising cyberspace, and thought it might be a good discussion for this blog, where we've talked so much about how the press reported (and never retracted) slanderous and false broadcasts and articles about specifics in the case.

In some cases, blatant untruths that were dissected and chewed over endlessly by angry commentators, without ever a single retraction or clarification, even though the Peterson case was really tried in the media.

The video is the University of Minnesota's James Fetzer, who gave an hour lecture on the facts surrounding the death of Senator Paul Wellstone just days before he might have been re-elected. Fetzer gave the speech on November 16, 2005.

Wellstone and seven other souls, including his wife and daughter, were killed on October 25, 2002. He served in the Senate from 1991 until his death, 11 days before the 2002 U.S. Senate election in which he was running for a third term.

Below, I've posted comments by YouTubers that reflect the interesting mix of views that can be found on YouTube ---a site that sponsors a whopping whole lot of independent citizen journalism (and a site that I actually love exactly as much as I hate TV).

But a few notes I scribbled while watching the first 20 minutes or so of this lecture might be interesting, first. (I didn't watch the whole thing.)

Fetzer notes at 3:02 that the news reports lied about the weather, and gives documentary evidence in photo form about the actual weather near the Eveleth airport that Wellstone was approaching before his plane met its end.

At 8:41, Fetzer notes that CNN's Wolf Blitzer made a big deal on the air that the NTSB "wasn't even flying into the airport" to do its investigation---as if the weather were so phenomenally bad, they just couldn't.When actually, Fetzer explains, it's standard practice to close small airports where there's been a crash, in case the airport had something to do with the accident.

He notes that Duluth TV weathercaster Dennis Anderson tried repeatedly to correct the lies about the weather by noting his corrections on the air. It seems, though, that Anderson's efforts were drowned out by the noisy chorus of national commentators---but hooray for Denny Anderson anyway. Fetzer says he heard the reports, so they did some good.

Other interesting items Fetzer raises in his talk include the fact that Wellstone's plane was piloted by an experienced airman, Richard Conry, who had 5200 hours of flight experience and did a flight check with the FAA two days before the crash. Not only did Wellstone have an expert pilot, he had two pilots--a co-pilot named Michael Gass who was a cop and had a commercial license.

Fetzer also notes that Wellstone's plane was a Beechcraft King Air A100, a very fine plane with de-icers on the wings, which had a spotless maintenance history.

He says the investigation after the crash was hobbled by the Attorney General's refusal to declare the crash a crime scene. It could only be investigated as an accident scene, which means the collection of evidence was constrained by different rules.

Here's some more food for thought. Wellstone's plane was seen flying extremely low by a number of eyewitnesses interviewed in another Wellstone video I've posted at the bottom of this post. If a plane is flying low and goes down.....does the wreckage look like this? This plane was incinerated. Did it burn up in the jet-fuel fireball? What do other plane crashes look like when the plane was flying low?(Here's a hinty hint...go to Google Image search and type in the words small plane crash ..without quotes is fine...and you will see a whole lot of plane crashes that don't look like Wellstone's plane crash. To be fair, though, if you continue to scroll through the images, which is a punishing project, you will see incinerated planes.)

American Assassination: What happened to Sen. Paul Wellstone? Part I

Fetzer suggests an electromagnetic weapon might have been used to down Wellstone's plane, and explains some of his suspicion:

Consider the alternative that this plane was taken out by the use of an EMP-type weapon. That would explain the loss of communication commensurate with loss of control. It would explain a preimpact fire. It would explain the blue smoke. It could explain why the plane was facing the wrong direction at impact. It could explain the severe angle of descent. It could explain the engines on idle. And if a cover up was being implemented to conceal the true cause of the crash, that would explain the early arrival of the FBI. It would explain the prohibition against photographs. It would explain the reversal of roles between the FBI and the NTSB. It would explain the inadequacy of this report to reflect the evidence.

Another line of argument supports this explanation. Every aircraft has its own "glide ratio" of how far it will remain in flight horizontally as it loses altitude in vertical descent when it suffers a loss of power. The plane was at 3,500' above sea level when communications were last received. The altitude at impact was 1,350', for a vertical difference of 2,150'. Assuming a glide ratio of 15:1 for the A-100, this plane could have been in a glide for the last six miles, with a loss of power as early as 10:18 AM.

If an electromagnetic weapon had been used, its effects could well have been evident in the wreckage. These effects--including digital clocks, for example, that might have stopped at a time other than that of impact--would have to be obliterated and the surrounding area combed for incriminating evidence. As it happened, the fuselage burned for hours while the FBI had control of the scene and before the NTSB team arrived. Quite a coincidence, especially when they arrived so promptly on the scene. The bodies, which might have displayed signs of electromagnetic exposure, were burned beyond recognition. The FBI's assistance in this case was not acknowledged in the NTSB's report.

...And now for the rough and rowdy, the unapologetically insulting, the YouTube commenters:

gumbymofugga says:

Our government is obviously full of murderers, but the fact he voted against the war in iraq means absolutely nothing. 23 other people did, I don't see them dying. He voted for almost all of the bullshit military acts of Clinton, who was also a psychopathic killer. This guy (Wellstone) seemed to only vote against republican war crimes... Why do you make him out to be some saint who actually votes with thought, rather than with party? MLK was a legitimate assassination, this doesn't look like it.

thisisyourwakeup replied:

maybe they were just getting some target practice removing a potentially annoying thorn . did you see the condition of the plane? Thats not a normal crash at all

I am no expert on Wellstone but the timing of the crash and the condition of the plane and the fact that so many other peaceful politicians die . JFK, RK, Robin Cook, Dra Dabid Kelly etc etc

Timing was the key for me. Just too much of a coincidence and the death of his wife meant she could not run on his behalf with similar policy

jstrahan2 comments:

"Occam's razor is the law of parsimony, economy or succinctness. It is a principle urging one to select among competing hypotheses that which makes the fewest assumptions and thereby offers the simplest explanation of the effect." Considering the numerous implausible assumptions of the 'assassination' theory (not least of which is the hundreds of complicit people involved with not a single 'leak') and the well established accident investigation procedure, I believe that the choice here is clear.

thisisyourwakeup replies to jstrahan2:

I think we are more inclined to believe Fetzer than you. Wellstone was one of the very few senators to oppose the Iraq war and he is also one of the very few senators to die in office. He was killed as was Robin Cook, Dr David Kelly, Dr David Graham, Danny Jowenko, Barry Jennings, Richmal Oakes Whitehead, RFK, JFK, MLK, and many many many more. Now I suggest you do us all a favour and go and stick your Occams Razor up your fat (expletive) ass

....Another video, a 16-minute preview of a full-length documentary on the plane crash, can be found here.
